Ada is located in Ada Township, approximately 6 miles east
of downtown Grand Rapids in central Kent County. This picturesque
village with its small town charm is located at the mouth of the
Thornapple River flowing into the Grand River. It contains a downtown
area and adjacent mall, accented by colonial style building and small
boutique shops and wonderful restaurants. There is a covered bridge
for foot traffic only over the Thornapple River, near Leonard park and
baseball diamond, a short walk from downtown.
Ada is considered to be an ideal commuter suburb to the
Greater Grand Rapids area and it is also located a short distance
from the Gerald R. Ford International Airport.
Today, Ada is a thriving suburban community of the greater
Grand Rapids area. Its top-ranking school system, Forest Hills Schools,
wooded rolling hills, and small town feel make it a very popular place to live.
If you enjoy countryside living but want to be close to the
cultural activities of a growing city, Ada is a wonderful place to live.
For current Ada events, Ada Township has a quarterly newsletter,
The Adaview.
The Ada Business Association and the Ada Arts Council are very active
in this community.
